A year of statements, one file, one report
For catching up a client’s books: drop every statement at once. Each is checked against its balances, the months are checked for gaps and overlaps, duplicates are caught, and the rows come out as one Excel, CSV or QBO file. Nothing leaves your browser.
Read in your browser. Your statements are never uploaded.
Each statement is checked against its own balances, the statements are put in order and checked against each other (a month no statement covers, a closing balance the next doesn’t open with, rows printed twice), and the rows come out as one file with a report for the lot.
Questions, answered
What does the batch check that one statement at a time can’t?
Whether the statements join up. Each statement is checked against its own printed balances, as on the converter page; then they’re put in order by the period each prints, and the batch says which months no statement covers, which days two statements both cover, and where a closing balance isn’t what the next statement opens with. A month with no transactions is still covered: coverage comes from the printed period, not from the rows.
How are duplicates handled?
A file dropped twice is spotted by its contents and left out. A row printed on two statements covering the same days (the same date, amount, description and balance) is listed for you: the second copy is left out of the merge unless you keep it, since two real payments on one day for the same amount do happen. Nothing is dropped without being shown.
Which files can go in a batch?
PDF statements, and QBO, QFX, OFX, QIF and IIF files, from one account; several accounts can be dropped together and are merged separately. CSV files need their columns chosen, so they’re converted one at a time on the CSV page.
What’s free and what’s Pro?
Reading, checking and reviewing a batch is free, so you can see every gap and duplicate before paying. Downloading the merged rows (Excel, CSV, QBO and the rest) and the batch report is Pro. One statement at a time stays free on the converter pages, its report included.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Every file is read in your browser, and the merged file and the report are made there too. Signing in to Pro sends your email address to our account service, and nothing from any file.
